Nissan Production, Sales And Export Results For August 2015
Nissan Motor Co., Ltd. today announced its production, sales and export figures for August 2015 Nissan’s global production in August increased 7.7% year-on-year to 398,459 units, marking an all-time record for the month of August.
Production in Japan decreased 15.1% year-on-year to 52,398 units.
Production outside Japan increased 12.3% year-on-year to 346,061 units, marking an all-time record for the month of August.
In the U.S., production increased 0.8% year-on-year to 88,503 units, marking an all-time record for the month of August, mainly due to increased demand for the new Maxima and the Murano.
In Mexico, production increased 5.2% year-on-year to 73,953 units, marking an all-time record for the month of August, mainly due to increased demand for the Sentra.
In the U.K., production increased 244.4% year-on-year to 40,186 units since the number of operating days increased as the length of summer vacation was different compared to the same month a year ago.
In Spain, production decreased 28.6% year-on-year to 1,693 units.
In China, production decreased 0.1% year-on-year to 91,719 units.
Production in other regions was up 13.1% year-on-year to 50,007 units, mainly due to an increase in production volume of the Rogue (X-Trail in Japan), which is produced in Korea for the North America market.
2. Sales
Global sales increased 0.6% year-on-year to 406,138 units, marking an all-time record for the month of August.
Japan:
Sales including mini-vehicles declined 7.6% year-on-year to 36,678 units
Vehicle registrations decreased 6.6% year-on-year to 23,929 units
Mini-vehicle sales decreased 9.4% year-on-year to 12,749 units
Sales outside Japan increased 1.5% year-on-year to 369,460 units, marking an all-time record for the month of August. 2
In the U.S., sales declined 0.8% year-on-year to 133,351 units.
In Mexico, sales increased 10.1% year-on-year to 29,339 units, marking an all-time record for the month of August, mainly due to increased demand for the Sentra.
In Europe, sales increased 9.2% year-on-year to 42,775 units, marking an all-time record for the month of August, mainly due to increased demand for the X-Trail and the Pulsar.
In China, sales were down 5.5% year-on-year to 89,048 units.
Sales in other regions decreased 6.5% year-on-year to 62,970 units.
