Tesla Gets A New Vehicle Production VP From Audi
Tesla announced yesterday that the just-opened position of vice president of production would be filled by Peter Hochholdinger, who leaves Audi after 22 years to join the electric automaker.
The production VP position opened up earlier this month when Greg Reichow left. Josh Ensign, the vice president of manufacturing, left at about the same time. A replacement for tis position has not yet been announced.
Hochholdinger’s new assignment will be, unsurprisingly, to “increase and improve Model S and Model X production, as well as help build a scalable, cost-effective and quality manufacturing program specifically designed for Model 3.” Tesla has admitted to a bit of “hubris” with the Model X, so we assume Hochholdinger will be spending a lot of time thinking about those overly complicated Falcon Wing doors in the near future.
